Need a hand? You’re in the right place.

NearNow is a live map of what’s happening around you — tonight, this weekend, and close enough to actually get to. If something isn’t working, or you can’t find what you need below, email us and a human will get back to you.

support@nearnow.events

We answer within two business days, usually much sooner.

NearNow is for adults 18 and over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use NearNow?

No. The map is public — open the app and browse what’s happening near you without signing in. You’ll need an account to RSVP, save events, message, or host something yourself.

Why does NearNow ask for my location?

To centre the map on where you actually are, so the events you see are ones you can get to. If you’d rather not share it, decline the prompt — the app falls back to a default view and still works. You can change your mind any time in your device’s Settings under Privacy → Location Services.

Why is NearNow 18+?

NearNow is built around real-world gatherings between adults, so you need to be 18 or older to use it. Some events are marked 21+ by their host — usually where alcohol is involved. That badge appears on the map and on the event page, and it’s set by the host, not by us.

How do I RSVP to an event?

Open the event from the map or list and tap to RSVP. You’ll find everything you’ve said yes to under your Tickets tab.

Can I host my own event?

Yes — anyone with an account can. Tap the + button, add your details, and publish. You can keep it free or charge for entry.

How does payment work?

Paid events are handled through Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe — NearNow never sees or stores your card number. Free events stay free: no ticket fees, no middleman.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled according to our cancellation policy and the terms set by the host for that event:

•         Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the event start time are generally eligible for a full refund, minus applicable payment-processing fees.

•         Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event start time are generally non-refundable.

If you need a refund, start with the host through the event page. If you can’t reach them, email us at support@nearnow.events and we’ll help you follow it up.

Someone is behaving badly. What do I do?

Every profile and event has a report option, and you can block any user directly from their profile. Reports come to our team and we review them. If something is urgent or involves someone’s safety, email support@nearnow.events and mark it urgent — and if anyone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings and choose Delete Account. You’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm — that second step is deliberate, because this can’t be undone.

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your RSVPs, your saved events, and your personal preferences, including any private identity selections you made during onboarding. It is not a deactivation or a pause.

If you can’t get into the app to do this, email support@nearnow.events from the address on your account and we’ll handle it for you.

How do I change my email or password?

Email us at support@nearnow.events and we’ll take care of it. We’re adding self-service controls for this in a future update.

I found an event that isn’t mine. Can I add it?

Please do. If you know about something happening, you can post it to the map so other people can find it too.

Internal notes (remove or hide before public publish if preferred)

1. Mailbox. Create and test support@nearnow.events before this page goes live. Apple checks that the support route resolves.

2. Logged-out access. The page must load without requiring login or redirects — same requirement that applies to /privacy and /terms.

3. App Store Connect. Give the final URL to Travis so it can be entered in App Store Connect (Support URL field).

4. In-app discoverability. Confirm that Settings (and Delete Account) is reachable from the Me tab without relying on the logo. Apple’s reviewer needs to find account deletion without being told.

5. Self-service. Change-email / change-password currently routes to support. Self-service controls can wait for a later release.
